Bikepackers and loaded bikes gathered beside an Alberta rail corridor
Get involved

Help build what Alberta bikepacking is missing.

You do not need to be a legal member of the Society to contribute. Good routes depend on creators, riders and local knowledge.

Routes first

Three ways to strengthen the route network.

01 · Route creators

Submit a Route.

Bring an existing route into the ABS network while retaining ownership and choosing whether navigation stays creator-hosted or ABS may host a supplied GPX.

02 · Anyone who rides

Report a Route Issue.

Tell ABS about closures, gates, dry water sources, washouts, campground changes, resupply problems, navigation errors and other current conditions.

03 · Ongoing contributors

Become a Route Steward.

Develop an ongoing relationship with one route and help keep its planning information, access context and verification history useful.

Stories

Write or photograph Alberta.

Ride reports, community stories, practical knowledge and strong photography can help build a richer picture of bikepacking across the province.

Volunteer

Bring the skill you already have.

Mapping, GIS, writing, photography, web work, event support, local knowledge, advocacy and administration can all become useful as ABS grows.

Community

Use it. Share it. Improve it.

Ride the routes, send useful feedback, support communities along the way and help make the information better.

Free public access

No membership fee required.

ABS is being built around free public routes and resources rather than a paywall.
